Student Constitution

The chairman of the committee drafting a new school constitution makes the case for ratifying it.

By Mason Stegen, Reader December 10, 2015 School year 2015/16

This school year will see the ratification of the new school constitution. This sees that the DaVinci culture will be brought together, maybe not now, or next year. But with this document, mechanisms will be put in place to provide the flower bed that will innumerate into the culture.

This new constitution does not take away from our student government, but rather adds to its stability by reassuring what may feel like common practice into sure events. As the chairman of the committee to write a new school constitution, I’ve had total control over the situation. This new document will replace the old one, but in a way that fosters growth and cooperation between extracurricular activities.

By reverting powers that justly belong to the student body such as impeachment sentences, voting reassurances, and election in close ties, this document will, if used to the skills of an adept student governor, revitalize the dying DaVinci culture we have all been enlightened to.

The new school constitution should be embraced by all, it will definitely prove useful to all extracurricular activities.

Some new and revitalized features of the new constitution include:

  • Clear petition committee rules.
  • The new communication committee.
  • A special advisor to the president.
  • Communication advisor.
  • Election judges to ensure elections.
  • Easier changes for the document itself.
  • Guaranteed write-in slots on ballots.

This document was crafted from the siblings of the first years of DaVinci Academy. We hear directly from the source what DaVinci culture was from the years in the post office, even before what is the theater existed. These are the foremost students in the school, ready to leave our mark, maybe even longer than the old dragon.

Support the new school constitution.

Sincerely, Committee chairman, Mason “The Better” Stegen
