Dragon Army Off to a Fantastic Start After Kickoff for 2016 Build Season
DaVinci's robotics team built a working robot on day one of FRC Stronghold and has been prototyping ever since.
Since the kickoff of FRC Stronghold, our high school robotics team, “Dragon Army” has been dutifully and happily working on building field components and prototyping add-ons for our robot.
On the first day, as per Dragon tradition, we built a basic robot all in one go. It was able to drive in all directions, pass certain defenses, and score the low goal.
Of course, this is not nearly up to par for the Dragon Army and we have since been busying ourselves with arms, hooks, and everything on (or utilizing) wheels.
Monday (Jan. 18), we made prototypes for a shooting mechanism
and a retractable arm.
We ended up building 10 prototypes for things such as shooting, pick up systems, hang systems, and drive chassis. We also built many field elements such as the rough terrain, rock wall, and the scoring tower.
