Game Reviews: Grand Theft Auto
A short 2016 student review of Grand Theft Auto V, from heists and races to its first-person option and PC graphics.
Grand Theft Auto is a sandbox game with many story-line options, including options to do “heists,” in which you can earn money, “races,” where you unlock new cars and car equipment, and more.
Well, this game is an overall awesome, violent game. The graphics are amazing, especially in the PC version of the game, “GTA V Next Generation.”
The plot sequence has amazing quality, really funny jokes and adult humor, and it likes to break “the fourth wall” a lot.
Many gamers would like the way the game is set up, because it is third-person point of view but has an option for first person.
Many players play this game and most of them enjoy it. It’s incredibly dense with excellent content.
There is so much to do, explore, and play with, both in single-player and multiplayer, plus great creative tools.
Besides, we should appreciate one of the first video games that made it big.
GTA V ten years on
Grand Theft Auto V first came out on September 17, 2013, for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The version this review praises arrived later: PlayStation 4 and Xbox One got it on November 18, 2014, and the PC release followed on April 14, 2015. That re-release is also where the first-person view the reviewer mentions came from; it was announced at E3 2014.
The game kept going long after this review. An Expanded & Enhanced edition reached PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on March 15, 2022, and Wikipedia puts its total at over 230 million copies shipped.
Its sequel took far longer than anyone expected in 2016. Rockstar released the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer in December 2023, then delayed the game twice, first to May 26, 2026 and then to November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
