A new hit singer, Alessia Cara (short for Alessia Caracciolo), has gotten more than 8 million views on her newest single “Here”.

She is a young Canadian singer from Brampton, Ontario. She signed with EP Entertainment and Def Jam.

She recently released her first album, “Four Pink Walls”, which includes five songs: “Seventeen”, “Outlaws”, “I’m Yours”, “Four Pink Walls” and “Here”.

“Here” is the opposite of a party song. It is a summer hit that had 500,000 total streams in the first week, and it was also a true story. “Here” is fresh and insightful with cool reflective influences and a teenage voice.

“Seventeen” was about the purity of childhood.

“I’m Yours” was mostly about her being reluctant to fall in love. Although the song has a good meaning, it was the least striking song because of the choice of wording in the lyrics.

Alessia’s new album is about acknowledging the uncertainties of adulthood, and not having an inflated ego. She even refers to herself as “reminiscent of a softer younger Rihanna”.

She is young and is an ongoing hit. She has a powerful vocal voice and is into this generation.

Alessia Cara is a wonderful singer with amazing potential and has a bright singing career ahead of her.

Where her career went next

The “bright singing career” this review predicted arrived quickly. Four Pink Walls was a five-song EP, and a few weeks after this piece ran, on November 13, 2015, Alessia Cara released her full debut album, Know-It-All, on Def Jam Recordings.

At the 60th Annual Grammy Awards on January 28, 2018, she won Best New Artist and became the first Canadian artist to take that award. She followed it with The Pains of Growing in 2018, In the Meantime in 2021 and Love & Hyperbole on February 14, 2025.

Born in Mississauga and raised in Brampton, Ontario, she is now based in Toronto. The five songs listed in this review came out as an EP rather than a full album, which is why Know-It-All counts as her debut record.
