Kiss Me Quick by Nathan Sykes Review
The former member of The Wanted goes solo with a debut single that sounds a lot like Bruno Mars.

Nathan James Sykes is an English singer songwriter. He is better known for being the youngest (age 22) member of the British boy band The Wanted. Nathan has recently released his debut single “Kiss Me Quick” on the 5th of July 2015.
The young pop artist has been in the music business since 2009. He has been contracted by the Global Entertainment label company. Nathan Sykes also released the song “Almost Is Never Enough” with another young pop artist, Ariana Grande, in 2013.
Nathan has performed some pretty great music before but sadly enough this time he has really downgraded. His new song kind of makes it seem as if he wants to be the newer version of Bruno Mars.
The Notebook received a copy of his latest video to review. In the video there could’ve been a better vibe given out, but the beat seems extremely repetitive knowing that it is almost the same as Bruno Mars’ latest songs. The song itself would pass but the video makes it lose a lot of points.
Sykes is a very talented artist but should try to add a bit of creativity and originality to his upcoming musical projects.
What came after the single
Listeners were kinder to “Kiss Me Quick” than this review was. The single peaked at number 14 on the UK Singles Chart and reached number 1 on the US Dance Club Songs chart.
Nathan Sykes put out his debut studio album, Unfinished Business, on November 11, 2016, through Global Entertainment. It peaked at number 11 on the UK Albums Chart and was certified Silver by the BPI. Two more singles from that period, “Famous” and “There’s Only One of You,” charted in the UK in 2016.
His second studio album, Ultraviolet, followed on October 17, 2025, released independently, with “Getting Lost” among its 2025 singles. In Scotland, “Kiss Me Quick” had peaked at number 19, and Unfinished Business also reached number 19 there and number 2 on the US Heatseekers chart.
