Noah Hughes: We are one

A short poem on faith, race and the bonds that divisions cannot break.

By Noah Hughes November 12, 2015 School year 2015/16

We are not torn because of Torah. We are not rivals due to Bibles. We could have run against each other because of the Qur’an on your bed, dear brother, But we are one.

We cannot attack our fellow black. We cannot fight our fellow white. We will not chasten each other for our races, dear brother, for we are one.

Pluralism in our singularity Will not withhold us from familial charity. We are a muddy pool of bloody fools, and there is the clarity, Dear brother: We are done.
