Ballet dancing tips
Five tips for beginning ballet dancers: the right instructor, watching others, posture, stretching and a smile.
Ballet dancing is supposed to look elegant. The moves should move without having to make a jerky stop or switch like in hip hop. Leaps are a big thing in ballet.
Tip one: Find a great instructor. You want to get a dance teacher that has had dance classes in the past; experience is a good thing. You wanna make sure the instructor and yourself are having a fun time and not yelling at each other. You also want the dance teacher to be able to teach you new moves and tricks.
Tip two: Watch other dancers. In order to become a good dancer you need to watch other dances. Like at your dance recitals, stay for the whole thing to watch them and get some ideas to tell your dance teachers, or just search up dances on YouTube.
Tip three: Posture is a HUGE thing. You don’t want a hunch back; straight posture will, yes, be harder to do than just hunching your back. When you leap in the air your back should be straight, or your stomach should be out and your back should be bent inward.
Tip four: You definitely want to stretch. Stretching is a must. You don’t want to pull a muscle that can damage your dancing. Sometimes if you don’t stretch you can permanently stop dancing just because you didn’t stretch as well as you could. When stretching it is sometimes good to go past your stretching point.
Tip five: ALWAYS SMILE!!! Smiling is probably the biggest thing in dancing. If you’re not smiling then the song had better be either a sad or a mad song. You have to have emotion in your dance and facial expressions.
